Q. Are there different methods of sweeping?

A. Yes. Traditional broom sweeping is one option. Another less-abrasive method uses an air sweeper. This type of machine has "gutter brooms," that provide a clean curb line and a sweeping action that is gentle on the pavement. This type of machine also does not produce as much dust and is able to pick up small material that can become airborne when it's windy.


Q. How often should streets be swept?

A. Sweeping is usually a routine cleaning just like dusting the inside of your business. Streets should be swept at least twice a month or every other week.


Q. Are there any preparations I should make before my scheduled visit?

A. No! However, we ask that you schedule any landscaping maintenance work the day before the sweeping is scheduled. Harman Commercial Services, Inc. utilizes heavy duty blowers in areas the trucks cannot access.

Q. Can professional sweeping extend the life of the pavement?

A. Yes. Sand, rock and debris are an abrasive. Removing them regularly assists in preventing pot holes, cracking, and striping erosion. Resurfacing expenses are astronomical! By sweeping outside of office and other buildings, inside floor maintenance can also be reduced through the removal of the street-based abrasive material.


Q. Will street sweeping disrupt traffic flow?

A. At Harman Commercial Services, Inc. we will make every attempt to sweep the streets where traffic is generally higher than others during "off rush hour" times. That is why you will often see us working hard for you either in the late hours of the night or early before sunrise.


Q. How does street sweeping affect the environment?

A. Harman Commercial Services, Inc. uses environmentally-friendly, state-of-the-art equipment. All of our street sweepers have been certified as small particulate compliant by the Texas Air Quality Management District. This means they have passed the most stringent testing done to date in the U.S. Bottom line, this means the sweepers we use have outstanding pickup ability for both large debris and material smaller than a human hair - which is the size that is a leading cause of asthma. Our machines also produce extremely minimal amount of dust and noise during operation.

Q. Why do you power wash with heated water?

A. Heated water cleans more effectively than cold water. An added benefit to warm water is that we use less concentrated soaps to insure the safety of your plants and landscaping.


Q. I have dark stains on the exterior walls of my property. What is it?

A. Most likely, the stains are mold that are not just an eyesore but are actually extremely unhealthy to you and those within the vicinity of the mold. Pressure washing will remove mold from trim, concrete and other surfaces.


Q. Can you clean my property year-round?

A. Yes, we operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Adjustable heating control of our cleaning water allows us to clean even in below freezing temperatures.
